Vickie Sayers

Trauma-Informed Practitioner

Vickie transitioned from a career in HR to become a Youth Adviser at a drop-in center, where she provides support to young individuals dealing with various challenges, such as employment, training, and homelessness.

During her tenure, Vickie encountered numerous young people in abusive relationships, prompting her to volunteer with an out-of-hours domestic abuse service for a year. Subsequently, she secured a full-time position with the local authority's in-house service, serving as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) and Young Person's Violence Adviser for seven years. In this capacity, she offered direct support and advocacy to victims and survivors, which included facilitating group sessions and conducting training for the broader workforce.

More recently, Vickie has transitioned to the Children's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, where she provides early advice and referrals to families, aiming to prevent issues from escalating and reducing reliance on statutory services.
