Our one-day CPD accredited course which enables practitioners regularly engaging with adults and children and young people, who have experienced trauma, to gain an understanding of the principles of trauma-informed practice and how to apply them effectively in your daily work.

This course will help you:
 

  • Deepen your understanding of trauma: Learn to recognize and acknowledge the impact of trauma on a person’s development. Understand how trauma responses manifest in behaviour and discover ways to support individuals in their journey towards emotional health

  • Adverse childhood experiences: How they affect behaviour and life choices across the lifespan
  • Protective factors: Positive childhood experiences that can shield against trauma and promote good mental health 
  • Trauma-informed approaches: Understand the principles and how trauma informed practices supports developing resilience 
  • Trauma-responsive practice: How this can benefit your day-to day work
  • Neuroscience insights: Gain knowledge of current trauma-related neuroscience research
  • Vicarious trauma: Recognize its impact and learn mitigation strategies, including self-care techniques
  • Links between trauma, attachment, behaviour & triggering
